I doubt this is the correct place for this thread but I'm not sure where it belongs exactly. A friend of mine gave me an older HP that was running windows 8 and was filled with malware. He wants me to wipe it and put a fresh install of Windows 10 on it.
I didn't have DVD's on me at the time so I made a windows 10 boot disc using Microsoft's Media Creation Tool. I wiped the HDD and watched windows install as normal. It did the usual reboot after completion and on reboot got stuck on the windows loading screen.
I've tried running disc scans, windows recovery tools, etc. I've started from scratch countless times. I bought DVD's and tried running the install from there. I've also tried installing Windows 8 instead. No matter what I've tried it always just spins forever at the windows loading screen. Every few restarts after it loads forever it'll display a message saying remove all usb media and try again. There is nothing plugged in other then a mouse, keyboard, and monitor.
Here is some info on the machine:
Brand: HP Pavilion Desktop
Model: p6210y
Bios: AMI v02.61 Revision 5.18 09/08/09
Does anybody have any recommendations?
