Stuck configuring updates at 35%

I’ve been trying to install win10 from win7 which has been giving me major issues. I accidentally shut off my pc by habit when going to bed, while win10 was installing. Now when I launch my PC it gets stuck at “configuring updates 35%” and judging by the google results for that, it won’t start working on its own.

1. My F8 key does not open the safe mode option. F12/Delete open BIOS or let me choose which drive to run from.

2. I can only access my desktop from my HDD, my primary drive is the SSD and its having issues.

3. Disk Cleanup only shows me my recycle bin when scanning my SSD from my HDD’s desktop, so I can’t delete the win10 installation that way.

Please help me fix my computer.

1. I hope your crucial data and personal information was backed up
2. you can install windows 10 directly and use the windows 7 license during validation time.

looks like you will need to boot windows 10 on usb drive (download RUFUS and Windows 10 ISO) and boot from it, delete all partitions on C: drive and install it away.

Here’s an issue for using my Win7 key to get win10, I bought a pre built PC years ago (this one) and don’t have the key. I can still access my SSD since I can get to the desktop on my HDD, so I’m making backups of important files on cloud/flash drives.

Surely a complete reset of my OS isn’t the only solution?

Set DVD to boot first in bios...
Turn off any internet connection.
Put the windows 7 disk in the drive again.
Select "upgrade." this will not erase files or programs.
This will reload the OS but it will not erase your files...

Apparently: there is a windows 10 update which is incompatible with your system.
If you try to install windows 10, the same thing will probably happen again.

Maybe you should keep using windows 7?

Is it possible I could delete the Win10 update files that were downloading manually? Like I said I can access my drive’s files if I boot from another drive, i just can’t boot with that drive.
