Tried to change the default password to the wifi on my computer. It has windows 8. After changing the password it is stuck in authenticate. All the troubleshooting has said to do is reset the router. I did and the computer. Still stuck. Searched the web and haven't found anything like this yet. The normal options aren't available on the network options so I cannot delete and reinstate the connection. Need ideas on how to fix quickly please. (Precise instruction would be great) Thank you all in advanced.

by authenticate windows do you mean activate windows 8. or something else. because if it is to activate windows 8 all you need is the key code that come with the os.

No. Nothing is wrong with the Os. It works fine. What I mean is when you hook up a new wifi system with an ISP and they give you a crazy password to connect to the router for your devices. What I wanted to do was get rid of that default password and replace it with my own unique password. When I changed passwords from the default to mine it wouldn't authenticate the password and reconnect to the wifi. Thus the wifi connection is stuck in authentication. I'm sorry if I wasn't clear before. But I hope I cleared it up. It's kind of a confusing situation since it has never happened before.
