So this first started when i installed windows 7 because i like windows 7 more than 10, and i didnt know that it wasnt supported by the i5 7500. So none of the drivers were working. I was very lucky that i had a linux iso on my windows.old desktop, so i installed it and im here now trying to install windows on a cd/dvd. I have used brasero to burn it to it and when i reboot it still isnt working it stays on the motherboard splash screen and then boots to kali after a like 30 seconds

Solution
What version of Windows are you trying to install now? Also, what version of Linux did you use to burn the Windows ISO to DVD (you know you don't just copy it to DVD, right?)?
You could boot to linux and use it to check the contents of the DVD to ensure it got burned properly. After Linux boots and you reach the desktop environment, insert the DVD in the drive and select it in the file browser. If not correctly burned, you'll just see the image file.

so i looked it up apparently 4.7 only actually has 4.3 so maybe that is the issue, so im downloading a windows 8.1 iso right now cause its 4gb and maybe that will work and then i can download windows 10 from there.

That's not the point, though. What's in the root directory of the DVD? Is it just the image file, or do you actually see multiple files & directories?

DVDs have 4,700,000,000 bytes (4.7 GB), which works out to 4.377 GiB. The difference is that a GiB is 1073741824 bytes.

A lot of people are lazy and just write GB, when they really mean GiB. Plus, I'm not even sure how long ago the GiB abbreviation came into use.
