stuck on preparing automatic repair

What do I do after the preparing automatic repair leaves and the screen is just black and only the mouse is showing

I know this may sound like a "Tech support answer" but I had the same problem, I turned off my pc, unplugged the power supply, let it sit for 4 hours then plugged it all back in and the automatic repair loaded and fixed my PC without making the screen go black, hope this helps.
