Stuck Pixel on Asus VE278Q

Hey, just got the monitor in the mail and have noticed one stuck pixel in blue near the centre of the screen.

I am using UDpixel at the moment for about an hour now and doesn't seem to be doing anything. I have also tried tapping the screen gently and applying pressure, but I do not want to damage it.


Has anyone had success in the past in getting rid of stuck pixels? If so how did you do it?

How long should I run UD pixel before I should give up?

Keep in mind there is a difference between a stuck and a dead pixel. Most panels (TN) let light pass through when the pixel is turned off, so you might actually be dealing with a dead pixel.

Let it run overnight(3 or 4 hours). Reports of successful software fixes for dead pixels are greatly exaggerated.

I have ran it through all the colours, and the only colour where it is not noticeable is on blue, so I assume it could be either a stuck or dead sub pixel?


Highly unlikely it will be fixed I assume anyway.


i could send it back but it seems that the probability is another panel will have at least one dead pixel also, it there is over 2 million on a screen and each has sub pixels it's nearly inevitable I suppose.


And the fact that companies tolerate dead pixels as much as 8 on one screen suggests it must be pretty common.


I suppose that's what I get for buying a cheap screen I suppose.

First thing, don't beat yourself up. Most panels don't have bad pixels but many do. Blue pixels are the least bad because our eyes are less sensitive to it then green or red (green is by far the most important). So if you have a dead blue subpixel, it's the least bad of all dead pixels.

If you want to return the screen you probably can, just don't mention the dead pixel.

Try to look for any bit of false advertising on the package(or website), things like if says it has HDMI or DVI but doesn't. Then say you bought it because of that thing and you need to return it. Don't lie, just be really nit-picky.
