stuck with a 180w PSU for gaming

Hello,

My CPU draws a maximum of 35 watt (intel G630T).
I plan to buy a GPU with a maximum power draw of around 80 watt (HD 7770).

Apart from an SSD drive, there is no other device in my system.

Will my Fortron FSP 180 be enough for this setup? Fortron says that this psu has an efficiency of min 68% at full load. Which means a minimum of 122 watt of power output.

Will I need to underclock my cpu and gpu?

In all honesty, that's such a very low PSU with such poor efficiency (68% is very poor efficiency these days), I'd recommend a new PSU. If you want a quality built one under 400w, I'd recommend the Seasonic G360 (with efficiency of 85-91%) or similar "80+ Gold" rated:-

It'll pay for itself over 3-4 years simply in electricity saved (due to only wasting about 9-15% of electricity used into unwanted heat vs a whopping 32% wasted electricity -> heat of your current FSP 180).

ie, if your system uses say 100w DC, the Seasonic or similar 90% PSU will draw about 111w from mains AC - but your 68% PSU at same 100w DC will draw about 147w from mains AC (and turn the difference mostly into 36w extra heat)! At 150w, the Seasonic will draw 166w from the mains, but yours will draw over 220w! The more you load it - the greater the gap. I would honestly change your PSU before even thinking about changing GPU.

Edit: Sorry, I just noticed you have a "Flex" sized PSU meant for those little mini-ITX cases / rackmounts. Is there no way of changing your case to a Micro-ATX and use a standard ATX PSU? If you really want to keep your case, there are other replacement "Flex" PSU's out there, eg, Seasonic SS-250SU (250w at +80% efficiency) but they're not always easy to get hold of / and can sell for quite a premium at some places.

Thanks a lot. I'm stuck with this PSU for now so I'll try with the HD 7750 which is even less demanding on the psu. I'll report back when done.
