[SOLVED] Stuggling to attach Ryzen stock cooler to MB

Hi all,

I'm really struggling to connect my new stock Ryzen 5 3600 fan to my new motherboard ASRock B450 Steel Legend. The spring loaded screws just won't come close to the holes in the motherboard, bearly even moving at all.

I've since noticed that my motherboard is sitting high on 4 metal screws (screwed into the case)with threading to allow the motherboard to be attached to the case. This means the backplate is not connected to my motherboard rather sitting lose underneath.

Is the backpanel supposed to provide the threading for the CPU cooler?

Any help would be hugely appreciated.

Sorry guys, I resolved this after much frustration. Obviously you attach the CPU and fan before putting in the case. Don't I feel stupid...!
