how can i bypass user password or just be able to use a sony vaio? Stupid me got suckered into buying, get home plug it in an when it turns on....so of a b....!!!!!The damn thing is in japanese..all it says on user name is keiko arata..wtf???and windows xp home edition bout the only 2 things i could read!!!!!help any one????/before i just burn the s..t up...damn thing set me back 120$..Now i just have a useless waste of money....

You could download and install a Linux distro and use it. Just install a new OS.

You could head back to the location of the yard sale and get the password. Otherwise, Tom's Hardware does not support the bypassing of security protocols for any reason.

did that,lynux,dndk,removed cmos,f2 set up/f12/f8/so on..damn thing goes back to the same place. took battery out too.changed boot sequence,cpus..practicaly took it apart an put together again..I buy laptops here an there an desk tops an rebuild them..an some i give away to kids around my area in South Central Los Angeles..an some i sell to continue..but i never had a problem.i have files burned on cd-roms..and now here i am?????//?//////////?????/thanks for ur solution..

mostly always do,some dont have batteries,chargers,laptops missing keys,etc.but this one looked to b in good shape.and its not a bad lookin laptop be even better to b able to change it to work in english...lol...

Wipe the drive and reinstall a new OS clean. As already stated you'll get no assistance here with bypassing any form of security.
