After you call a cab, but before it arrives, it asks if you want to
leave the neighborhood the way it is.

No, my mouse ACCIDENTALLY clicked on the phone, ACCIDENTALLY requested
transportation, and ACCIDENTALLY asked for a cab for my Sim to go out.

Well, maybe it's a failsafe in case something dreadful happens between the
phone call and the arrival of the taxi. That way you wouldn't be saving
something you didn't want to have happened at all.

Reminds me of some MS products with their constant "Are you sure?"
questions :)

The craziest situation like this that I've experienced was on the PS2
playing one of the SSX games. Since there are so many confirmation
screens about saving the game, you get into the habit of pressing x,
down, x, down, x in quick succession. Unfortunately it's exactly the
same sequence of confirmation screens for deleting a savegame, except
that the first x is a square...

Kinda renders the whole thing a bit redundant really.
