Stuttering in games... What should I do?

Hi! I need some help.
My specs:
CPU: FX 8300 3.3 Ghz (Stock) (idle: 37 C; load: 57 C;thermal throttling off)
MOBO: Asrock N68C-GS4 FX (Drivers updated)
RAM: 2+4=6 GB RAM DDR3
GPU: Just upgraded to the Palit GTX 1060 3 GB OC (Core:2075;Mem: 4704;Voltage:1093 mV)
(Idle: 44 C; load: 70 C with custom fan profile)

I get a lot of stutters in games, so I did some testing:
GTA 5: CPU: 40%-60% and GPU 60%-90% load (vram: 2500-2700 MB used/Very High settings) in this game I get lots of stutters after 2 hrs in the game when ram is like 5800 MB used. I get 60-70 FPS in the city and 50-60 while driving
Watch Dogs 2: CPU: 50%-75% and GPU 70%-99% load (vram: 2600-2800 MB used/High preset) in this game when I'm staying still I get 30-40 FPS but when I run or drive or look around it starts to be unplayable. Ram usage is 5500-5800 MB. At low it becomes playable but I still get stutters here and there and I don't really want to play this game at low with a GTX 1060 and it looks horrible.

I was thinking of buying 16 GB of ram... but i want to be sure if the ram is the problem...

My question is: Is more ram worth it/gonna solve the problem? Thank you in advance!

Solution
well, i think you dont rly need 16 if you already own those 4 + 4, 8 will be fine, yeah you wont have dual channel but still 8 gb is very good fot GTA V and extra 2 wont cost you much.
Did you check your harddrive by the way? It might be old and with bad sectors, download hard disk sentinel and take a look there.

Yeah, but I can sell these 6 GB of RAM and I also edit videos and I guess 16 GB of RAM is gonna be perfect plus I won't care about apps running in the background so much and games kind of started to require more than 8 GB. I only have an 1 TB HDD (WD Blue: WD10EZEX) I bought it last year so is kind of new. I will check it now with hdd sentinel.

Alright so I guess I'm gonna buy some ram. Thanks. I tested the HDD.. it says it is in perfect state... 100% health/100% performance so I guess it's solved. I'll come back tell you if is 100% solved with the new ram.

Alright, so I bought more ram, I bought a stick of 8 gigs and I put it in with the 4 and I have 12 GB. It's really nice that the ram has same latency (11) and same frequency (1600 Mhz) and it should be fine. BTW, my mobo has only 2 slots of DDR3 so yeah. Till' now no crashing. GTA 5 runs smooth as silk, watch dogs 2 runs in 30-40 FPS no stuttering at all, at high so it's really great. I am waiting for zen to get a new CPU. Thanks for all the help! Have a great day ^.^ !

No problem man, glad to see that it works !
About Watch Dogs 2, it is said that it is optimized worse than other titles just to tell you that.
And about GTA V, there is well knows problem about RAM being eaten through the time you play (not really memory leak but something like that)
If you ever need some help come back on Forum, we are glad to help here!
