Stuttering/locking up while gaming with GPU under load

Whenever I play PUBG my game stutters/locks-up despite having a GTX 1080 Ti. This began to occur after I started mining, however I don't mine intensively, only part time during some hours.

I can play other games fine, but only because my other games don't hit 99% GPU usage.

When it stutters, it backs me out to the desktop and shows me my motherboards audio settings (ROG SupremeFX) for some reason. The stutter causes my audio to become disabled or not found. Since my headset audio cuts out completely until I unplug and replug the headphone jack.

Help would be much appreciated! My daily tasks revolve around my PC so I would be extremely grateful for an answer, thank you

CPU: Intel Core i7-7700K

RAM: G.Skill Trident Z RGB 16gb (2x8gb) DDR4 3000MHz

MOBO: ASUS ROG Strix Z270E

GPU: ASUS ROG Strix 1080 Ti

PSU: EVGA Supernova G2 Gold 750w

All my drivers are up to date. Not sure about the UEFI but I haven't made any big changes for a few months so it was obviously working in it's prior state. I will still update it though since I may as well if it isn't already

I don't mine and play games at the same time, however, I think PUBG is to blame since I am able to run games like Total War: W2 on ultra at 2560x1440 with no hiccups from the GPU
