Hey guys! I found this from a separate thread talking about a similar problem. Here is what samking1489 said:
"I had the same problem yesterday and now fixed....just go to control panel then system and device manager. unninstall the wireless card not just disactivating...when done restart your pc and reinstall the card with the last driver you can find on asus website...everything's fine now...very important to uninstall the old drive cause it wont update if you dont.
Hope ist gonna work!"
After struggling with incessant, reoccurring stuttering problems (affected everything: audio, video, mouse, typing, etc.), I applied this simple step and BAM! the problems gone!
A little background for my specific problem:
6+ months I had been dealing with this issue. Initially, I thought it might have been related to other motherboard problems I was having (major crashing) - stuttering problem turned out to be a separate issue altogether.
After trying nearly everything: driver updates (for everything!), resetting bios defaults, updating BIOS (on previous motherboard before RMA), various scans (hard drive, virus, registry), etc.
The simple solution that samking1489 provided above has so far worked like a f***ing charm!
The relief of which inspired me to join tomshardware just so I can make this post. Seriously, been browsing for a fix a LONG TIME.
Thanks samking1489!
