Hi,

I just recently purchased this card, coming from a $20 video card. I had no problems with the cheap card, other than I couldn't play games on very high settings. Now with the 650 I can play my games on max settings, but I've been experiencing random stuttering. Sometimes in games, but not even during intense moments, just randomly. It also happens when watching Youtube videos. It'll stutter for a few seconds and make a strange 80s robot kinda sound then go back to normal. My resolution is only 1360x768 as it's all my crappy tv can do.

I've checked to make sure my drivers are up to date. I have it hooked up to my tv through the mini hdmi, not sure if that has anything to do with it. Also when I first got it the sound on Bioshock wasn't working so I downloaded a realtek driver. I can't remember if I had any stuttering before the driver, but I don't think so.

I was thinking I might need a new video card, but I've ready that 550w should be enough, so I wanted to check here before going out and buying one. I've tried searching forums for a solution but most of what I found people either had a much weaker psu or a different video card. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Here's my setup:
AMD Phenom II x4 945 3.0 ghz Processor
MSI 760GM-P23 (FX) Motherboard
Kingston 8GB 1600MHz DDR3 RAM
ULTRA LSP550 550W PSU
EVGA GeForce GTX 650 Ti 1024MB GDDR5 128bit

Well since you're not saying which games you're getting stutter in, the very simple answer is that the GTX 650 Ti is a low-to-mid level card and it will struggle at max settings with most games. If you had done your homework (which you obviously didn't because you have a GTX 650 Ti), you would have purchased a Radeon HD 7790 for less money and would have a more powerful card. You also would have selected 2GB because that's pretty much the minimum needed by today's games. That 1GB card will be a dinosaur VERY fast. All you can do is turn the settings down and next time, don't just assume that something is great simply because it's green and says nVidia on it.

The guy asked for some advice and you are getting all fan boi because he didn't purchase an AMD card!
Why you trying to insult him for it?
Drop the attitude, calm down and try to be nice and offer some advice instead of insults.

Yeah I was a bit harsh, I apologise. It had nothing to do with the brand of card he bought, if the nVidia card was the better deal, I would be applauding his choice. I think I've seen too many questions today like "Can I overclock my Intel HD 4000 on my laptop so I can play battlefield 4" questions...lol
It also irks me when I can't help someone because they've painted themselves into a corner.
