Good evening once more.

Just looking for some general advice ref a gaming laptop please. Would like to spend sub £1000 on a laptop for use while away with work (14 weeks minimum).

Will be playing primarily alot of indie stuff I presume that wont take much kick like Hellcard, Inkbound, Slay spire etc BUT for sake of an extra £100-200 Im happy to go for say a 3060 over 3050TI just so If i want to slap on something Satisfactory or ESO for example I can play better stuff at a "reasonable" standard. I have a solid real setup back home but just want something compact for when Im away.

Only factor ref where it's purchased from is that I get 10% off Argos. Wondered what a general opinion of this one might be? https://www.argos.co.uk/product/6823889?clickSR=slp:term:gaming laptop 3060:4:131:1

Thanks in advance.

Hey there,

Well, that one IMO is very pricey for the tech. 2 Gens on the CPU, and one on the GPU.

Do you want to just buy a system and use? Could you do a build by yourself? Would you be happy with a custom build?

On the laptop itself. Two gen old CPU, while no slouch is not the most modern. The GPU is middling. 1080p med- high settings, 60hz +on modern AAA is all you can expect from it.

8gb of system ram is far too little. You will need to upgrade your ram to 16gb otherwise you will be faced with constant stuttering if you are gaming.

I can build towers myself but never built a laptop and these days time isn't something I have. If the above is a no no, could you recommend any alternatives please? What about some of these from SCAN? I often look at Argos for items in general due to my discount and forget they are far more expensive than alternate places in the first place.
