Another thing, how long do you think it will be till the radeon 5xxx series, if the press release is sept 10th i guess they should be available for purchase soon after right? is it worth the wait?

It's due to be released Oct.10th and yes it would be worth it as the HD 5850 will have around 1200 Shader procs, 850 MHz Core and 256bit GDDR5 (uncertain) So it'll be like 20% (at most) slower than a HD 4870 X2, Ah and the DX11 Support.

Ah.... and why aren't you getting it from the USA at NewEgg you asked me about that before ;) (You can easily make a high-end build with USD1500 [i7 One] :D ).

Well it won't take that long and feel it's not right getting an AM3 for USD1500 while you can get a: i7 920 + 6GB 1600 7-7-7-20-1Tb + GTX275 + 1TB Spinpoint F3 + Corsair Hydro H50 + Asus Rampage II Extreme.

So i think (my opinion) that waiting about 10 days after your arrival worth it.

Also you can place the order from your home country let's say 3 days before your flight.

Im thinking of an am3 mainly because of future proof, intel already states theyre keeping the i7 socket for extreme very expensive cpus :p but AM3 will be AMDs socket for at least a couple of years.

Well THEY ARE keeping the socket LGA1366 for extreme very expensive cpus but they'll certainly release a mid-end i9 for like ~USD300 and you won't probably even want to upgrade for a year+ as the i7 920 with some overclocking is EXTREMELY enough for a year+ and the LGA1366 is future-proof maybe even more than the AM3 Because it's even newer.

EDIT: Oh and the LGA1366 will last for about 7+ years just like the LGA775 did and they haven't even filled it's full potential so there's no point of changing the socket and that isn't what is going to happen.

Regards.

Well, if it is the same, then he is all set. I don't see a single item on his list that is over $400. ;)
