Subgraph OS on an AMD?

I am wondering if there is any way to run Subgraph OS on a computer with an AMD Athlon II N330 CPU, according to the official manual (https://subgraph.com/sgos-handbook/sgos_handbook.shtml) it requires an intel. Is there any way to run it on an AMD. If not, are there any operating systems that you would recommend instead of it that could run on that chip?

run it as a vm?

ie--virtual machine

never done it with amd cpu but would imagine amd cpus support vms

I am looking to install it as the main OS on a computer, so a VM would not be ideal

try running it as a live os on the target pc first to see what happens
