I would like to buy a sub-printer but i don't know who.
Can anybody help me?
Is it worth or is better a new inkjet printer?
POS-NEG?

TIA

In order to help anyone with a decision on the type of printer or the brand,
it is important that people list their printing needs.

i.e. photo vs. text
volume of each
end purpose
money constraints if any

The open ended question you ask is so vague, that NO ONE can help you

A sublimation printer is used for PHOTOS not text!!!
The Volume of printing is 36 photos x film(4 x 6).So i want to print 1-5
films/6 months and not 5000 pages x month.
If you don't have a sublimation printer (or don't know what it is) i am sure
that you can't help me!!!

:)

Get a Phaser. www.officeprinting.xerox.com

If your going to do high quality photos, I would not invest in an inkjet.
Yes, I know that Epson and others make really really good ones. But if your
going to spend money... Look at Phasers from Xerox.

Phasers are not "PHOTO"printers! They don't do a bad job,but an Olympus P440
dye Sub printer makes its output look sick!

I hope he just won the lottery, because the prices this place charges is
crazy. The Oly 440 would be a LOT cheaper way to do what he wants!

Sublimation ink jet printing, like what Sawgrass systems does is meant for
image transfers. Putting photos on T-shirts, Mousepads, tile, almost anything.

Dye-sublimation printing is high speed photographic printing.

e-mail me if you want any questions answered. I have various Epson and Canon
inkjets, some used for heat transfer application as well as several Dye-sub
photo printers, including Kodak 8660, 8670 and 6800 printers.

I have the Olympus P400 (not familiar with the 440).

I am VERY pleased with the prints from it. I was NOT pleased that I had to
buy Qimage to get it to do 5x7 2-up.

Olympus wants $99 (US) for the firmware upgrade for doing 5x7 2-up throught
the driver.

The 440 is just like the 400,but can print true 8x10s.The 400,though
advertised as an 8x10 printer falls short of that, which caused many people
to complain to Olympus. The 400 does make nice prints also though.
