I have an Acer predator helios 300 with a gforce GTX 1660 and a Core i7 9750H. Watched a movie for the first time today and cannot get the subtitles to display. Tried VLC, Media player classic, MPC-HC (which was installed with the K lite mega codec pack), as well as Movies and TV, and Media player. In all of them the subtitle dialog shows that the srt file is loaded (I have a screenshot I wanted to post) but they're not showing. I feel like there's a setting somewhere, maybe with the video card, but I've tried everything I can think of. I really enjoyed watching some of the foreign movies. Hopefully someone here can figure it out.

I'm a moron🥺. They weren't actually subtitle files. I saw the srt file type and assumed. Happen to play another movie that did have a subtitle file and it worked fine. Thanks for your help and so sorry to waste your time
I recall of something such when I still used vlc and windows media player for movies. Currently I use kmplayer and potplayer. If something happens to my subs, it is usually related to the font size or the improper synchronization of the subtitles, so try changing the sub size, the timing, or even the mov. player.

Thanks AJ. Tried both players and I've been fooling around with font sizes and synchronization. I'm starting to wonder if it has something to do with the graphics card. Just wish I could figure out what. 😡
