OK so u got a stereo amp wo dedicated sub out.

U want an active sub then with the following characteristics: Stereo High level inputs, gain knob, crossover knob, high level/high pass output to your L+R.

Hookup will be: Amp ----> Sub ----> L+R.
Is this the only way, or can you convert on of the connections into a sub out with a dongle or something

To successfully use a sub, a crossover needs to exist somewhere. The crossover job is to split the signal, low to sub, rest to L+R

An amp with a dedicated sub out, this crossover is built into the amp. Yours doesn't have one.

The crossover built into many subs will perform this function assuming you hook it up the way I prescribed.

That's all I know.
