Question subwoofer doesn't work/barely works

I have a creative soundblasterx kratos s5 2.1 speaker system. All the bass seems to be coming from the speakers and not the subwoofer. i can barely hear the subwoofer unless i am next to it. i have turned the ball dial at the back to full. i am using a usb connection. Maybe it is meant to be like this, but i am feeling a bit underwhelmed.

Are you using the sound blaster connect software? Have you tried using the equalizer?

yeah sorry forgot to mention that i used it. as an example, in the song billy jean, that whole first section is almost entirely played through the speakers. the subwoofers speaker is moving but barely making any noise.

Have you gone into windows sound settings and see what settings it is playing at. The ideal listed is 24-bit/96kHz digital .

Also I think the subwoofer has a standby button on it, make sure it isn't set to standby.

i fixed it thanks. It was a broken/<Mod Edit> usb cable that came included. i switched to another and it works now.
