Sudden disconnection of devices connected to motherboard.

My friend bought a new motherboard, so he gave the old one to me. My previous motherboard: Gigabyte GA-Ma74GMT-S2; motherboard given to me by my friend: Gigabyte GA MA78-LMT S2P. (I admit it is not much significant upgrade, but still, I get a PCIe 2.0 port and AM3+ socket.). The PC booted up and ran for 2-3 days properly. But now a very weird problem is occurring. Suddenly (I am assuming) all devices connected to the motherboard are disconnected without any alert. I am saying this because the mouse's led is no longed alight when the problem occurs, keyboards led lights are turned off and there is no signal to the monitor. Moreover I can't turn off the PC. I gave the command win+x>>u>>u (I'm using windows 10 insider preview) but the PC didn't turn off. Also I pressed the power button and held it pressed for like 5-10 seconds. Still the pc didn't turn off. So I had to turn off the main supply. The next time I booted the PC, I reset all BIOS settings to optimized default. But within minutes the problem reoccurred. I had to turn off the main supply again. I think the problem maybe is due to the motherboard but I can't ascertain it. Any help is appreciated.
(Sure I can swap the current motherboard with my old one, but still, I would like to know the reason for the problem.)
Once I was able to boot into windows without running into the problem and I did a quick scan of system files by bit defender(with latest updates) but no virus was detected.

I had been using the insider preview for like a month or two and I never had ANY problem with it. In fact there were far more errors in windows 8. I don't think the OS is the problem here.
