Hello,
My CPU comprises of Intel core 2 duo@1.8 GHZ, Intel D945GCL motherboard , 2GB DDR2 RAM , Nvidia 8400 GE force. A few days back,I had got a Blue screen error saying that there was some hardware changes made although I didn't do any. The main problem is that ,this morning my system was running unusually slow and it took about 2.5 minutes(normal time is around 1 minute) for booting windows XP professional SP2.
The windows start up music comes along with some noise. When I'm on the desktop, I can hear a periodic noise that comes from both cpu and speakers. Also, the LED indicator at the front of cpu cabinet would periodically flash a dim light when there is noise. This problem had occured earlier and the technician whom I had called then was able to solve the problem. He just blew off the dust from RAM and also he inserted the cable that connects hard disk to motherboard, to a different slot on the motherboard. I just did the same today and everything is back to normal.
I want to know what is actually causing this problem and whether it is severe or not. Also how does it become alright when the hard disk cable is moved to different slot on the motherboard?
Thanks
