Hello, I'm having issues with my pc. When I am playing a game I'm having random fps drops (from 60 fps to 55)(75 to 68 etc) not when there are many things happening on screen or anything just random. This issue is with 1080p and 1440p.

I already updated my Nvidia drivers, Windows and did a clean Windows 10 install, disconnect my TV, tried it with only the monitor vsync on/off with a fps limit and without one. XMP is on and my temps are fine. No virus. I would really appreciate any help good folks, thank you in advance.

My specs:
Nvidia RTX 3070
I510600KF
RAM 2x 16gb
Nvidia driver: 497.09
Windows 10: 21h2
Psu 650
NVME SSD 1tb 150gb free (games on this SSD)
3tb hdd
4K tv 60hz
1080p 144hz

Have you tried configuring your settings in Nvidia Control Panel ? I know this might sound too basic , but it might be a good start considering the fps drops . Also try checking, if there are networking problems or packet drops causing the same issue.

Also have you optimized your games in the Geforce Experience?

This thread might be of some use : https://forums.tomshardware.com/threads/huge-fps-drops-on-med-high-end-pc.3441381/

Apologies, if the above methods were of no help !

Hey, thank you for your response! Yes I also tried the Nvidia control panel options and Geforce experience, but sadly no changes.

Very interesting about the networking problems/packet drops. I'm not too familiar with that how can I measure that if that is the problem? And could that be the problem with my singleplayer games? I did see some spikes in the taskmanager in the section ethernet but I'm not too sure about that, because I didn't focus on it last time I checked (and if I need to check it there).

But since you have mentioned that, you mostly play single-player games; The networking problem must not play a vital role in your FPS drops!
You might have to consider another source of problem affecting the frame drop .

Yeah, I also don't think that is the problem. Do you have another sugestion for what it could be, I honestly don't know what to do.

Hurts to say , but I can't seem to put in any other solution that might be of some reasonable help . You might have to check in for some software errors or bugs that might have crept their way through your system .

Or else, as I mentioned before you can try checking in various threads that were previously posted in this site's forums. And one of them might be : https://forums.tomshardware.com/threads/huge-fps-drops-on-med-high-end-pc.3441381/

Apologies for the same, and I can very well empathize your problem; Been through the same :( Hope your problem gets fixed soon :)

Thank you very much for your help, I also hope I will find a fix. Could you maybe take a look at my 2 short clips of the fps drop? I have MSi afterburner overlay on, maybe you can see something that's wrong and if not thank you anyways for your response (y)

Small FPS drops are normal.
