When I connected my laptop to an external screen, the fps in games suddenly drop from 60+ fps down to 3-4 fps. This happens every few minutes or so. I have tried all the fixes, from changing system files to updating graphics drivers. Can someone assist me with this issue?

System specs:

RTX 3060 6GB
16 GB ram
Refresh rate: 144 Hz
Windows 11

Have you tried using Throttlestop? You can run it beside a hard task and see if there's some throttling happening with your CPU. It will tell you if the CPU is throttling and for what reason. It even has a built in benchmark to help.
Apparently, when the fps in my games suddenly take a nose dive, throttlestop has a warning indicator show BD pro. What does that mean? All my temperatures were below 88 degrees as well.

Quick google search and BD pro indicator means it is a thermal issue causing the throttle on the CPU.
When you are gaming do you have both the laptop and external monitor on? I would try turning the laptop screen off.
Your laptop screen is 1440p 144hz so having two of them on might be causing overworking your CPU.
Give it a try and let us know.

BiDirectional Processor hot (BD Prochot) is the temp set by Intel, or lapto manufacturers, so that when the CPU hits a certain temp it will downclock/throttle to reduce temps.

For example. My Omen 15 has a Prochot of 97c, so it won't throttle until hit hits that temp or other limits (PL1, PL2)
