So, yesterday I did sort of a spring clean of my entire pc, from the cables to cae to everything, I got it hooked back up, and then it would not start up, said disk boot failure in big bad caps lock, anyways after tinkering around with the cables I finally managed to get ip up, backed up what I could, then ran for like 10 hours straight yesterday to stress test, and also did chkdsk, everything came up fine..., now today when I booted it up it got stuck at the windows loading screen, which is usually non existent since I switched over to 8.1, anyways after restarting and re-re-wiring the cables and changing them around I finally managed to boot up, and now after 12 restarts it's still holding up, but I'm not exactly sure as to what may be causing this, and if I should prepare for a dead end, cause then I'd really have to get a new HH to back everything up, I got over 1.5 tbs of valuable data, and its a WD green btw, so any help is appreciated, and sorry for the ultra long post guys...

update 1 : could it be the cables or PSU? cause my PSU is 6 years old and a bad one, but held up... also my HDD is round 3 months old, I had to replace my old barracuda which experienced the same thing, and now works for some reason...
