Hello

I am experiencing an unexplainable lag all of a sudden in my games, and I have done everything in my power to fix it with very little success.
Games like GTA 5 and Assassins Creed Syndicate always stayed at 90-100 fps, NEVER went below 60, but now in the exact same graphic settings and resolution fps frequently drops down to 55-52 fps, sometimes between 40-50. Same issue with Assassins Creed 2 and it's such an old game.
My temperatures never go above 80°C and there are no updates happening in the background. This is really agitating especially when I can't figure out what's the cause. I would really appreciate your guys help.

What I have tried : Reinstalled GPU drivers with Driver Sweeper, Malwarebytes, CCleaner, Razer Cortex (Worked once a long time ago, not anymore), Reinstalled Windows 10 (Which I think solved the problem a little bit only).

Specs:
Intel Core i5 3470
8.00GB Dual-Channel DDR3 @ 664MHz
Motherboard Intel Corporation DQ77CP
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970
120gb SSD, 500gb HDD
550 watt power supply

If it's a newer Windows 10 build, make sure 'Game Mode' is disabled: https://www.windowscentral.com/how-enable-disable-game-mode-windows-10

Also, be careful using registry cleaners like CCleaner(I personally do not use them). They can "accidentally" delete something they shouldn't have and cause issues. It is also not recommended to use 3rd party 'driver update' tools. Most of them are malicious. It's always best to manually update drivers yourself.

Game mode has always been disabled. Tried enabling and disabling it with no luck.

1709 is my current version actually. Same drivers use to work fine, now they don't. Thought updating them would fix the problem but it didn't. Though yeah its probably because of some update because one day everything was fine and the next day out of the blue fps drop in every game. I'm gonna try reverting to previous versions of windows 10 and, if I have to, try other types of windows (8,7 etc)
