I really need help with this because I have no idea what has happened and any advice would be greatly appreciated!

My system was running happy and 100% stable on Windows XP home SP2 for about 6 months. i had my e6600 OC'd to 3.2ghz and my Corsair Domminator RAM DDR 800 OC'd to 970mhz on my Asus P5N32-E SLI motherboard and everything was running perfectly.

My problem started after installing Vista on my machine. There was an issue with the installation with vista not wanting to boot without the cd in the drive. in trying to fix this issue i flashed my bios to the latest version and suddenly my system wouldnt boot (not even with the cd in the drive 😛)

The issue of the cd being required in the drive was sorted by moving the hard drive into a different SATA port and vista is now working fine, but my overclock is not.

I have tried going back to the bios i originally had and yesterday flashed to the latest bios that was just released and no joy. i can overclock my cpu back to 3.2 but the ram is only just running at stock speeds (Battlefield 2142 BSOD last night)

It is obviously a problem with me RAM/Motherboard but i have no idea what to do!
Has anyone seen something like this before or have any idea what i can do?

I need help!

Well since you're issue was solved without the help of the BIOS flash, why not try going back to your original BIOS version?

I was quite hapy overclocking my E6600 Quad at 3GHZ. I flashed the BIOS because of memory compatibility and now cannot not overclock the CPU at all. Any ideas. I don't want to go back to the old BIOS as it would mean taking out the memory.
Cheers

I've got a q6600 that run on 3.06Ghz (340fsb) fine on xp and vista. Bought myself a 8800gt and coolermaster 600w psu and.... can't get it stable at 3.06ghz anymore only 2.84Ghz (315fsb). ????????????????? We have a problem and we don't know why? Wish I could help you.

I took my memory out and went back to 1108. I have noticed that the FSB voltage then changes to 3.1v not 2.1v, I belive this is the answer, but there is no where to change this in the BIOS like some other motherboards. Anybody have any ideas?

Cheers

Yes, bios defaults were loaded before flashing the BIOS. Also sorry for the post yesterday as I meant 1.2v & 1.3v. I have since worked out that increasing the nortbridge volatge increases the FSB voltage but my system still will not boot @ 1333. The highest is 1266. Any body have any ideas.

You often have to press ctrl+f1 (check the list of commands at the bottom of your BIOS screen) to get into advanced motherboard peripheral settings (where you change memory timing, voltage etc.) In there you can change the voltage from automatic to your required setting.

Thanks for the advice but not on this motherboard. I have now yet again gone back to 1108 and everything is runing fine. Next question. I am only upgrading the BIOS as the I cannot run any more than 3GB, when I put in the 4th stick all I get is one continuos beep!!! With the others BIOS's all is fine.
Help!!! 🙁
