Hi,
I have a 3-4 year old system i had assembled.
it's got

I7 920
Asus P6t Deluxe Mobo
6 GB of G-skill 1600 memory (3x2)
an LC Power 1050
recently i bought an Asus GTX 660 ti GPU.

Originaly this system was built with a XFX GTX 285 GPU. It was a top notch performer back then. But i had frequent hard reboots (as in like pressing the reset button on the PC), while playing some games, namely Fallout 3, Half Life 2, etc.

Back then i did a lot of testing regarding loads and temperatures and all seemed ok and not the cause of the reboots. I got tired of all and downgraded to a gtx 240 gpu, and all ran fine ever since, no more reboots. Now, a few generations of GPUs later i decided to up my framerates and get the nice DX11 visuals, bought a new GTX 660 Ti and BANG, reboot while playing Diablo 3 and Heroes of Might and Magic 6. Exact same symptons as back then.

I ran the memory tests that comes with Windows 7 and found no problem.
Now, i know the weak link in my system, when it comes to quality, is the PSU. Could these reboots be related to a more demanding GPU putting a load on a bad quality high power (1050W) PSU, or is it more likely i have a problem with my Asus Mobo? Or something else? Any hint would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you.

Sudden reboots sounds like a PSU to me.. but I'm sure it could also be the MOBO.

If I were in your shoes, I'd check Windows Event viewer, just incase it had a hint as to what happens before the reboot

Thank you i'll look into it. I remembered now i also once tried a different GPU, a Radeon Saphire Vapor something and that would give me a blue screen on start up. That card worked fine in another system, later on.
