Hello everyone.
Recently I helped my friend to build brand new PC. The first day everything was fine, but on the second day and later on he was experiencing sudden reboots. Sometimes reboot would happen just before login screen, sometimes it would happen 20-30 minutes after boot, but it rarely passed the mark of 30 minutes without reboots.
The first thing we've noticed that there is no BSOD, so no dumps to analyze. Secondly, in the event log we've noticed Kernel Power 41 error with task id 63. We've learned that if BugcheckCode is 0 it usually means that there is a hardware issue, most likely with PSU. But we decided to update drivers first hoping it'll help. We've tried different graphic card drivers, we've updated chipset driver and bios. Unfortunately it didn't help. Checking temperature didn't help as well, neither CPU nor GPU goes above 65 degrees celsius on maximum load.
So the first thing we did after that - we swapped PSU with another one and needless to say it didn't help.
Then we've decided to check memory using memtest86, we've booted from the flash which had memtest86 installed on it and ran tests for 4 hours. No issues, no reboots, everything is fine.
We also tried to run Furmark and it was passing most of the time but occasionally we'd get reboots, so we've tried to swap graphic card as well. Sadly it didn't help.
We've also ensured to turn off any CPU overclocking in the BIOS. In the windows settings we've ensured that power options are configured to never turn off any inactive devices and never go to sleep. Finally we've tried to follow this weird guide http://www5d.biglobe.ne.jp/~the_imai/etymology/kp41_en3.html and the issue still persists.
The only thing we can say for sure is that the issue only occurs in Windows, it never happened during BIOS configuration.
Windows 10 was legally obtained from microsoft website https://www.microsoft.com/en-ca/software-download/windows10 and then installed from a bootable flash.
SSD was completely formatted during Windows 10 installation.
Here is the list of hardware installed on a PC:
If you can give us some advice that'll be really helpful for us. Thank you all in advance.
