Not.

Can we have a list of your system specs please? Also, have you tried restoring to a different backup point before you did the updates?

I tried restore points before the upgrade, and it went through the restore and after It rebooted I got a message that the restore did not work because of an antivirus program, Norton. So I turned off Norton for 15 minutes and did it all over again, the same result, I was told that the antivirus was to blame, (Even tho it was shut off???) It would appear that if it is a conspiracy to force us to leave win 7 and join all in win 10 free, then it will be very easy to eventually sell win 11 and get the money rolling in again. I read that installing 10 over 7 destroys win 7 so you can't go back.. It seems as if a lot of thought went into this so as not to have a repeat of people not going eagerly to a new version like they did when the horrible win 8 came out.

Norton is notoriously obtrusive but completely ineffective, you should get rid of that. I have no idea why people pay money for that crap. Once you've uninstalled Norton, I suggest you try restoring without an antivirus program.
