Hi, I have an Athlon 1800+ system with 256MB ddr.
i also have a X24 LG CD writer.
now, when I first bought the cd writer it was just perfect, it burned discs at a great speed (4-5 minutes tops) and I was very happy with it.
a few months have passed, and now, its unberable, it take it a few more secondes to write each disc, about 6 minutes, though the computer claims he is writing at X24 speed, and the biggest problem is, that it over loads the entire system. i can not do ANYTHING while he is writing, and I mean, even hearing mp3s or using mozilla (and this is a 1500mhz system I'm talking about). also, the buffer is allways at 20%-30%.
now, this change has acure because of a few changes. but I can't put my finger on the problem.
1. I reinstalled windows xp
2. I removed my other DVD drive from the system
yeah, thats about it..
anyway,
love to hear your thoughts on the matter.
yoav.
