So I woke up the other day to no internet, tried doing the usual power cycles between modem, router, etc. and when finally nothing worked, I broke down and called Suddenlink, my current internet provider. They told me that they received a "Digital Rights" complaint or something from some other company (didn't say which, or for what) and that they flagged my account until I could be 'educated' on downloading copy-written material. Whatever, so I let them go through their spiel, and they removed/reset the flag on their end to allow internet access (I couldn't even open the "reactivation" page they referred me to over the phone).
This is where everything started. Since that moment, I cannot keep connected to the internet for more than a few minutes at a time before I have to cycle the router, modem, release/renew IP's, etc, only to stay on for another few minutes before it craps out again. After numerous internet searches, I've tried disabling hardware NAT, IPV6, factory resets, firmware upgrades, etc. and am still dealing with dropped connections (even writing this post I've had to reset IP's several times).
I have a TP-Link Archer C7 (V2) that I purchased brand new not more than 4 months ago along with a Motorola modem, neither of which had a single problem UNTIL the flag was placed on my account. Suddenlink is going to send a tech out to check my connection in a few days, but the timing on these 'issues' is way too big a coincidence to ignore. Is Suddenlink capable of interfering with my router? Is there anything else I can try? Infinitely frustrating and am out of ideas...
