My pc has always been telling me that it wasn't ready to upgrade to windows 11 when suddenly I've got an update waiting saying I can update. Would updating the Bios a couple of weeks ago initiated this ? And is it currently worth doing if i can ?

Is there any feature of Windows 11 that makes it attractive for you to change?

With any new OS there will be some glitches.
I would not update if running well.

W10 support expiration is not a good reason.
That just means that new features may not be included in 10.
If such features are attractive, that is when a change might be worth it.

Yes, updating the BIOS will have switched on secure boot and enabled TPM. Did it on this board.

it was likely the TPM change that did it. That is more of a barrier to admittance than secure boot. In general you can't install win 11 without a TPM (I did say in general, as you can fudge it to run on older PC without TPM too) or fTPM which is the software version most commonly used as its built onto the CPU.

WIn 11 just needs pc to be able to use Secure Boot, it doesn't need it on. I have run win 11 for 2 years so far without secure boot.
