Suddenly disappeared folders

Hey there ,
I'm working on windows 7 32 bit and I have 2 partitions E and D in addition to C of course . When I opened the D partition this morning most of the folders weren't there ! I searched for them and they showed up in the search results , I checked their properties to see if they were hidden or have been moved to another folder but they weren't !
Any help !

Have you checked the hidden properties of the folder in general? Not just the documents.

In Windows Explorer: Tools > Folder Options > View tab > Hidden files and folders
Under Hidden files and folders select "Show hidden files, folders, and drives"

File Reindex may also help if that doesn't work, which can take a long time!
