Suddenly lost internet driver

On the 16/03/14, my desktop stopped connecting to the internet; for some reason the internet adaptor driver became corrupt or appears to have been removed. I have my Windows 7 Disc, can I reinstall the driver from it?

Windows will not help you
you need to find out what motherboard you are using , go to the motherboard manufacturers website , select your motherboard , go to the downloads tab , select your operating system eg windows 7 or xp etc 32bit or 64bit then download the LAN drivers if you are using the ethernet
,or the wireless drivers if using a usb device to connect to the internet

You don't need the Windows 7 disc. Try using System Restore to use the "Wayback Machine" & take your PC back to before the issue occurred. If that doesn't work, your motherboard should have a utility/driver disc that came with it, & that should have the driver on it.

Barring that, mickeypheonix's suggestion of going to the manufacturer's website is the best method.

That ‘s good to know. The trouble is, I can’t gain access to the internet from my desktop to down load suitable drivers. How do I get around this problem?

download them from a friends computer or laptop or the pc you are on talking to us
copy them to a usb stick or cd and install on your pc

Using the original HP disc sounds like a good idea. when I changed the hard drive a few months ago I inadvertently deleted the back up part on the hard drive, so I am currently trying to restore that from the Windows 7 set up disc. If that fails I'll try the HP disc.
