suddenly screen freezes and I have to restart my computer

My computer screen suddenly freezes and i have to restart it... and when it restarts then a message appears "Computer recovered from unexpected shutdown"... and everytime i start my pc my screen goes white and i have to restart it and it takes about 2 or 3 attempts to and then it starts... can anyone please tell me what is problem with my computer... its dual core 1.8 ghz 2 gb ram...

Have you done anything "new" (updates/new drivers/graphics card/sound card/etc.) since it was last working properly and if so what was that?

No I haven't tried any thing new...
