Suddenly unable to create screenshot

Hello, I have Win7 64bit. Have been able to create screenshots in the past. Suddenly, it doesn't work. I press the "prtsc" key... or ctrl-prtsc..or alt-prtsc...nothing seems to work.
When I open Paint, my only choice is "paste from" the other "paste" is greyed out. When I choose "paste from" and desktop, it does not show the desired screenshot from the desktop.
Also, I have placed the "clip" shortcut on my desktop but it opens only for a split second.
Does anybody have any suggestions??

I figured out to use the Snipping Tool and it works well. Don't know why the Clip. Shortcut is only opening for a split second though...

If you're using a laptop, try connecting an external keyboard and see if that works.

Try updating drivers, just in case

If the PrtScn key won't work, you can consider using Free Screenshot Capture. It allows you to take screenshot of anything displayed on screen. Added to that, it enables to make some edits. http://screenshot.net/
