Sufficient PCI-E slots?

I'm looking at the MSI 970 motherboard. Now I think I would need a wifi card which as I understand it would take up one of the PCI-E slots, and the GPU is a ASUS Strix GTX 970. The description for this card confused me slightly as it says the fansink is "extended to two slots". Does this mean it takes up two PCI-E slots or is it just longer? Either way could someone advise if it would be compagtible with the MSI 970 and a wifi card? Thanks!

Solution
The Wi-fi card will work well in either board with that gfx card. On the MSI, it will sit in the slot behind the card, anyway. On the Asus, it will still have enough clearance to not cause any issues.

Thanks!

The moterboard was this : https://www.amazon.co.uk/MSI-970-Gaming-AMD-Motherboard/dp/B00LUY72F6/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1475543196&sr=8-1&keywords=MSI+970

Although I'm torn between that and this currently: https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B008RPZ5SC/ref=twister_B01EJUMCCU?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1

The wifi card: https://www.amazon.co.uk/TP-LINK-TL-WN881ND-300Mbps-Wireless-Express/dp/B006BSPTAQ/ref=sr_1_1?s=computers&ie=UTF8&qid=1475543280&sr=1-1&keywords=wifi+card

I basically just want to make sure the gfx card would fit on either of the aforementioned motherboards because i understand it is quite large,
