I just got a gtx 550 ti for my ageing computer. I don't consider over clocking but I'm worried my PSU isn't good enough.
I have a generic psu with a weird brand, Penguin. It is a 500 w psu with a continuos total output of 500w (dont know what that means).
The specs:
+5v. +12v1. +12v2. +3.3v -12v. +5Vsb
28a. 18a. 18a. 26a. 0.3a. 2a
The combined power of +5v and +3.3v is 200w.
I've tried doing my maths, 500w-200w=300w
300-(5x2)=290. 290/12=24 1/6.
The required amps for the gtx 550 ti is 24amps but I have a feeling I'm doing something incorrect.
Is this PSU good enough to power the card? Thanks to anyone who has an answer
