Suggest A Laptop

I have been needing a new laptop for college and see this as the perfect excuse to also get a new gaming machine. I’ve eyed the Acer Predator Helios 300, but after some further research I am willing to spend extra $$$ for something with a nicer display and battery. Does anyone have thoughts or advice between these two Best Buy certified open box items.
Price for the 15.6 is 1,115$
Price of 17.3 is 1,175$

I'm definitely with jasonkaler on this one. If your budget allows for $1,164 then get the 8GB 1070 option. The 1060 card is very powerful but it's only 3GBs. An extra $84 will add 5GBs' worth of VRAM - that's a bargain in my book!

Just remember it will be noticeably heavier to lug around and you lose the SSD option. No big problem - this ASUS actually has 2 additional storage slots (1 M.2 SATA and 1 M.2 NVMe) so start saving up for a 256GB SSD. You can check the details on page 85 in this manual:
