Suggest a Vesa Desk Mount for 28" Asus 4K monitor.

Planning on getting a new desk to try and compact the desk area, while maintaining enough work room. Just ordered the new Asus PB287Q 4K monitor. The stand is very good compared to the Samsung one, but its big, so i intend to mount it at back or corner of desk on an arm, but would also like to be able to move it around.

The problem is that it says that 27" is its maximum screen size. Anyone else got any suggestions please?

I have two 30" monitors. I use this rosewill wall mount:

Not that I am recommending them for you.

Looking at the mount you linked, I would not much want to use it.
I think a clamp mount will need to be very sturdy to hold your monitor and certainly you don't want to have it get loose and fall.
If you can, use a wall mount where you can screw the mount into the wall. Actually, that frees up a bit more desktop space.

If you must clamp the mount to the desk, look for one with a very large and secure mount.

Lastly, verify that whatever you buy has the appropriate vesa size holes, they come in 100 x 100, as well as other patterns.

I would love to wall mount, but my walls are hollow. My dad is a carpenter and he had a nightmare putting shelves up due to how crappy the walls are. The odd thing is the Vesa mount i linked states a max screen size of 27", but a max weight of 7.8 KG. The monitor only weighs 5kg. Surely this is more important.

Yes, I think the weight is more important.
All the desk mounts I have seen have what looks to me like a flimsy attachment.

All hollow walls will have some vertical studs. Usually on 16" centers.
Challenge your dad to construct a shelf with a back plate that spans those studs so you can screw a shelf securely into them.
