Solution

Your 7870 doesn't need PCI Express 3.0. Your motherboard has a PCI Express 2.0 slot, and that is where you will put the 7870. It will work. And no it isn't slower than a motherboard with a PCI Express 3.0 slot. In the future, maybe 2 years or more, games will be able to utilize the PCI 3.0, but right now they can't.

Your motherboard is good it will play games fast using your PCI 2.0. The 7870 is...
For a system using a single AMD reference design Radeon HD 7870 Boost Edition graphics card AMD specifies a minimum of a 500 Watt or greater system power supply. The power supply should also have a maximum combined +12 Volt continuous current rating of 33 Amps or greater and have at least two 6-pin PCI Express supplementary power connectors.

For a system using a single AMD reference design Radeon HD 7870 GHz Edition graphics card AMD specifies a minimum of a 500 Watt or greater system power supply. The power supply should also have a maximum combined +12 Volt continuous current rating of 28 Amps or greater and have at least two 6-pin PCI Express supplementary power connectors.

Total Power Supply Wattage is NOT the crucial factor in power supply selection!!! Sufficient Total Combined Continuous Power/Current Available on the +12V Rail(s) rated at 45°C - 50°C ambient temperature, is the most critical factor.

Overclocking of the CPU and/or GPU(s) will require an additional increase to the maximum combined +12 Volt continuous current ratings, recommended above, to meet the increase in power required for the overclock. The additional amount required will depend on the magnitude of the overclock being attempted.

The Seasonic ECO 600 (SS600BT), with its maximum combined +12 Volt continuous current rating of 46 Amps and with two (6+2)-pin PCI Express supplementary power connectors, is more than sufficient to power your system configuration with a single Radeon HD 7870 Boost Edition or Radeon HD 7870 GHz Edition graphics card.

The Seasonic S12II-520 Bronze (SS-520GB), with its maximum combined +12 Volt continuous current rating of 40 Amps and with one 6-pin and one (6+2)-pin PCI Express supplementary power connectors, is more than sufficient to power your system configuration with a single Radeon HD 7870 Boost Edition or Radeon HD 7870 GHz Edition graphics card.

There shouldn't be any compatibility problems with the Intel DH61WW and the Radeon HD 7870 GHz Edition.

The Corsair Enthusiast Series TX650 V2 (SKU# CMPSU-650TXV2) is made by Seasonic based on the non-modular version of Seasonic's M12II-650 Bronze (SS-650AM) platform.

Great post - very detailed.

I would also recommend that you look at the Corsair PSUs also because they are top tier (the post above that says they are second tier is incorrect) and Corsair backs their products better than any other company I have dealt with. They also offer 7-year warranties on their silver, gold and platinum rated PSUs.

Seasonic makes some Corsair PSUs and in professional reviews Corsair is often in the top two or three in each category (sometime they are #1).

ok guys i have selected my psu now its goin to be corsair 650 tx v2 watts for futur proof but i am also worried about that corsair 650 tx v2 watts don't have two 6 pin connector, it only have one 6 pin connector to connect my hd 7870 and what about my mobo guys (intel dh61ww) is it good enough for my hd 7870?

It has what you need. It has 2 6+2 pins. Many PSUs do that. You simply connect those.

Yes it will work The TX series has been very well reviewed by professional reviewers. It should have more than enough connecting cables for your build.

They only other thing you should look at is if you can get a modular PSU. This allows you to use only the cables that you need for your specific build. Non-modular PSUs have all of the cable bundled together and it is kind of a mess compared to modular PSUs.

Good luck with your build.

hd 7870 needs PCI Express 3.0 slot in mobo and i dont think that my mobo (intel dh61ww) has it. That y i am bit worried:??:
