Suggest gfx card for my Amd 965 old rig ?

Hi , My rig is kind of old but still running smooth .let me give u specs first
Amd Phenom x4 965BE +Gigabyte GA-785gmt-ud2h-ver.1+CM-TxT evo cooler
12gb DDR3 1333mhz ram,Antec VP650P PSU
AMD Radeon 4850 512 mb gtx & old dell hd monitor.
I can run Cod mw2 and cs go like games without any problem.
I dont want to change my processor as its running fine ,but I want to play games like GTAV ,Fallout 4 and few upcoming .so please suggest graphic card that will suit and run fine on my Rig.

The new cards have been covered, so I'll suggest you take a look at used cards. An AMD HD 7950/7970, or Nvidia GTX 660 Ti, are worth looking at. They are compatible with your motherboard, something new cards might not be, and they are available at lower cost. So you'll get about as much performance as you can out of your system without spending as much on the older system.

Some newer games, like Battlefield 1, might just be a bit too much for your CPU. In games like this, even with a 470 you might be looking at fps closer to 30 rather than 60 at 1080p. Any of the cards mentioned in this thread are a big upgrade to what you have now, that's the good news.
 


There is zero reason a new card wouldn't be compatible with his board. PCIe is backwards and forwards compatible. I am not saying some value can't be found in some older cards when upgrading but compatibility is a non-issue...new old or otherwise as long as they are PCIe for a PCIe slot.
