Suggest Mb+CPU to upgrade existing components

I plan to build around existing components and have the following:

Sapphire AMD/ATI HD 7750 1 GB GDDR5
Kingston 120GB SSD300
WD 500GB SATA II HDD
Cooler Master Thunder 450W
CM Elite 431 Plus Mid Tower
CM Hyper 212 EVO Cooler

I have to buy Motherboard/CPU/RAM,prefer AMD brand and budget for these 3 is 400-450 USD.

My usage: Home practice lab for Virtual Machines, would consume 6 cores/threads and 12GB RAM and occasionally play Civ 5 when not running VMs.
I am considering FX8320 processor and either ASROCK 970 Extreme3 or ASUS M597A R2.0

Please advise!

For RAM I am planning for G Skill F312800CL10D16GBXL, so I can all another pair next quarter; would it work out. I did not get F3-12800CL9D-8GBXL.
