Suggest me a Corsair mechanical keyboard

Hey everybody my current A4tech bloody b120 keys have started to fade/wear a lot of them so I am planning on getting a new keyboard . so I have been hearing about mechanical keyboards a lot , heard they got faster response than membrane keyboards and these mechanical keyboards come in different mechanical switches like cherry mx blue, brown, red, clear, black and speed switches . So I wanted to know what is the difference between these switches? , Also suggest me a keyboard plus model I want a RGB backlight LED keyboard I currently have a Corsair m65 pro RGB mouse so it would be probably best to get a Corsair mechanical RGB keyboard to SYNC the RGB LED lights with it . currently I am interested in Corsair K65 , K70 and K95 they all come in different variants can someone tell me the difference between them ? like theirs K70 , than K70 Lux and K70 Rapidfire

Consider that in game you had to press a combination of three different keys to perform an ability. What Macros do, according to my experience, is that you use the Keyboard software to tell the Macro key that its function now is to do the same ability as that of those three specific keys if they have been pressed. So instead of pressing 3 keys together, you only have to press one.

Well I don't really have a budget since I save up money but I can save up all the way to 200$ , So Corsair k65 ,k70 and k95 there's non backlight variants in them, than there's one LED color variant , than there are RGB variants which are customize-able and RGB variants of all these three keyboards price is almost similar from where I am from the K65 rgb is 150$ , K70 is 170$ , K95 is 200$ and K95 platinum is 230$ , K70 and K70 Lux are both 170$ here so whats the difference between K70 ,K70 Rapidfire and K70 lux? I think it would be best if I go with Corsair K70 don't know which variant one doe

Not too much of a difference. Go for the K70, well balanced. Or if you can consider Logitech and like small or medium keyboards which are simple:

I like full sized keyboards and do definitely need the numpad otherwise Corsair K65 would of been better Anyways as I mentioned in my original post that I only want a Corsair keyboard to SYNC my RGB with my Corsair m65 pro rgb mouse and the Corsair void RGB headset that I am planning to get , So I've decided to go with Corsair K70 Rapidfire its same as Corsair K70 Lux RGB but instead uses Cherry mx speed silver switches and the only difference between Corsair K70 Lux/Rapidfire and Corsair K95 Platinum is that K95 has dedicated 6 macro keys , lightbar on the top and internal storage for hardware playback and K70 doesn't

I've ordered the Corsair K70 Rapidfire RGB and will be receiving it today or tomorrow than I'll import Corsair PBT key caps for it thanks for all the help , I should get a Corsair mm 300 extended / XL mousepad for it would be real nice to have both my mouse and keyboard on it

I've never understood the 'great attraction' to mechanical keyboards the past few years, seeing no real advantage to 'standard' keyboards available for even $10-$15...

What am I missing, excluding the $80 deficit?

1.They last longer than membrane keyboards , membrane keyboards are rated to do 15 and sometimes 20 million keystrokes , where as mechanical keyboards are rated to do 50 million.

2. Mechanical switches do not only last longer, they also hardly wear out. Even after several years, typing on a mechanical keyboard almost feels like on the first day. There are no clattering keys or keys getting stuck.

3. Typing on Mechanical keyboard is a lot easier and typing on them feels better

4. Improved Typing Experience / Feedback

5. Some like the sound mechanical keyboards make when typing on them

6. Some gamers like to mash their keys as hard and fast as they can; though mechanical keyboards last longer and can handle this mashing

7. Some gamers prefer mechanical keyboards because they truly feel they improve their gaming. For example, these gamers prefer using Cherry MX black switches , speed silver or red switches, because they are linear and are “easier” to know when the keys have been pressed

8. They're easier to clean


They say if you use a mechanical keyboard for one week you'd never want to use a membrane keyboard again , yeah cons are they're expensive and some people do not like the loud sound they make when typing on them but you can always get silent variants and their are keycaps available which reduce the noise

And as far for 80$ you can even get a mechanical keyboard for 30-40$ thanks to China for making offbrand clone knock offs of cherry mx switches LOL such as Kailh , Gator , Outemu and Greetech , JIXIAN


I just got the Corsair K70 rapidfire yesterday its my first mechanical keyboard ever , I am going to buy Corsair PBT keycaps for it as they don't wear out / fade , shame though that I bought a 170$ keyboard they should of come with it by default IMO nonetheless I love Corsair products even though Corsair doesn't make most of its stuff it just rebrands them
