These are my pc specs atm, pc built in 2018:

AMD Ryzen 5 3600 3.6 GHz 6-Core Processorbe quiet! Pure Rock 51.7 CFM Sleeve Bearing CPU Cooler
Gigabyte B450 AORUS PRO ATX AM4 Motherboard
Corsair Vengeance LPX 16 GB (4 x 8 GB) DDR4-3200 CL16 Memory
Seagate BarraCuda 2 TB 3.5" 7200 RPM Internal Hard Drive
Kingston A400 480 GB 2.5" Solid State Drive
Seagate IronWolf NAS 4 TB 3.5" 5400 RPM Internal Hard Drive
MSI VENTUS XS OC GeForce GTX 1660 Ti 6 GB Video Card
Zalman Z1 ATX Mid Tower Case
Corsair VS550 (2018) 550 W 80+ Certified ATX Power Supply

Suggest me new GPU from AMD side, i dont want nvidia, they have low VRAM and are overpriced, not future proof at all. Also note i dont want to change any other part apart from GPU, my PSU not top quality and 550 not enough for better gpus, im thinking about rx 6600 6650 6700 6750 and xt versions of them. im focusing on 1080p/1440p 60fps high/ultra settings gaming, since my tv supports 60hz only.

Solution
As I recall the vs line was corsairs budget line so you don’t want to push that psu to hard. PSUs can take out other components if they fail.

That said any of those cards should be a good upgrade. If you are thinking of 1440p get the 6700xt or 6750xt. They should be pretty close and each should be good for 1440p. The other cards would do 1440p but you’d need to turn settings down a bit at times and use fsr more.
you are right , your PSU is sort of a limiting factor in terms of upgrade options and (to a degree) also your CPU .
rx 6600 will offer you decent (25-30%) performance boost over 1660Ti and it consumes only 120w of power while gaming .
i would say that´s the best option , but you can stretch it to 6600xt/6650xt to get another 10%-15% if you want .
(i would not go any higher with your current setup though)

that is sad.... so i need to upgrade my psu ;\ 8 gb gpus dont make sense for me now, and 20 30% upgrade is not worth it, i had my mind on rx 6700 xt that would allow me to play 1080p 60 fps on ultra for long time, and even 1440p for on high on many games.... damn its frustrating, you need to upgrade but cant, cause when you dig deeper you need to upgrade half of build ;\ some guys on reddit said they run rx 6700 xt on 550 psu 80+ gold, i guess mine is way worse? :|

ye like the others have correctly pointed out, i honestly wouldn't bother unless you can replace the PSU aswell...

However, i guess it also depends on what you plan to use your pc for, if its just low-end indiegaming or regular use (like work, internet, youtube etc) you could make do with a (sh*tty) GPU i guess - but i would never reccomend it

It's usually a better idea to buy a good PSU once than buy multiple cheap PSUs over the life of the good PSU. The only reason that an upgrade is strongly recommended is because you had a PSU that wasn't really appropriate for your current build. The PSU is the most important part of the PC and one way or another, cheaping out there instead of spending just a little more money to get something decent in the first place can come back and bite you one way or the other.

i would not go as far as to say his psu "wasn´t appropriate for his current build"
1660Ti only takes around 100-120w of power and ryzen 3600 won´t take more than 80w even with PBO enabled , the rest of the system is basically
just a couple of watts more - so you have a system which draws 200w ( 250w worst case scenario) under load - which is adequate for 550w power supply .
yeah VS is low tier but it´s not like it´s some kind of jonny guru "gutless wonder" tier either .
(although i agree it´s better to buy a good quality unit from the get go so you don´t have to replace it
each time you want to upgrade something and it is also cheaper in the long run .)

that being said this psu is also much older now and replacement is needed if you want to go for rx 6700xt .

8gb of VRAM is sufficient for 1080p gaming , low to mid tier cards don´t have enough horse power to utilize more VRAM anyway .
and they are also not good enough to use in higher resolutions .
6700xt is a good starting point for 1440p gaming if you are on a budget and it also has more VRAM
(but you will also start to run into your cpu limitations in some games) .

I prefer Nivdia drivers I would get a 3080 and a 5800x3d and new powersupply.

If your close to a MC, might be a better value to build a 7700x and sell this system as a whole. (do the math).

The deals MC have are GREAT saves you about 200 over newegg.

If you have to go AMD I would get a 6800XT.

Overall, I believe that the best choice for you would be the RX 6700 XT because if you want any longevity at 1440p, you really should start at the RX 6700.

At first, I was thinking of the RX 6700 because the The RX 6700 XT is only 7% faster but costs 11% more. Then I remembered that the RX 6700 has 10GB of VRAM while the RX 6700 XT has 12GB of VRAM. You rightfully pointed out that you don't want to be low on VRAM and those extra 2GB make the RX 6700 XT a better value than the RX 6700 at 1440p.

The next steps up would be the RX 6750 XT but that's only 8% faster while costing 16% more. It also has the same 12GB of VRAM as the RX 6700 XT. The RX 6700 XT is already a fantastic 1440p card so the extra 8% wouldn't make much difference.

After that is the RX 6800 which is actually a better value overall than the RX 6700 XT because it's 30% more expensive, 27% faster and offers 4GB more VRAM than the RX 6700 XT. Of course, at this point, you're getting into 4K territory and the prices are much higher. The RX 6800 is possibly a better value than the RX 6700 XT overall because of the extra VRAM but I think that for your purposes, it's not worth spending the extra money.

Now, since you haven't said what country you're from, I'm using the default US listings. Here's how the prices stack up in the USA:

XFX RX 6700 Speedster SWFT309 10GB - $310
ASRock RX 6700 XT Challenger D 12GB - $345 <- I recommend this one
Gigabyte RX 6750 XT Gaming OC 12GB - $400
Gigabyte RX 6800 Gaming OC 16GB - $450

I should also point out that your PC case will have an impact on your decision because these RX 6700, RX 6750 XT and RX 6800 are all big 3-fan cards while this RX 6700 XT is a smaller 2-fan card. Smaller 2-fan cards fit in more cases but bigger 3-fan cards are quieter. I don't know how much difference in noise there is because I have a gigantic tower case and have never owned a 2-fan card. I also don't know how much room you have in your PC case so I'm just telling you so that you can keep that in mind when choosing.

I hope that this makes the decision easier for you! (y)

thankyou very much, very in-depth reply, you summed up all i got from others and more :) indeed 6700 xt seems to be best overall for me, sadly i need to update psu and maybe even cpu for it to run 1440p decently. im from eastern europe, Lithuania in particular, sadly our gpus cost 100euros/dollars more in this category vs usa counterparts. sapphire rx 6700 xt pulse cost 420 euros here, i had bad history with as rock products so i avoid them, and next cheapest is sapphire that is also best rated if we dont count asus rog etc.

this was my first build i myself made, i had 1000 euros budget at that moment and had to cut some corners, also hi had no clue about psu diferences just wattage that i needed, now i read tons of stuff and watched videos about them, gold 80+ is must lowest as many said. btw what brands are best? corsair seems to be most trusted, others not so well known for me

the RX 6700XT is mediocre at best @ 1440p with any good settings in place.

you may be able to maintain a constant 60fps with mid>high settings and no RT effects in place in some mid-tier games but the most demanding games out there will need to be at a mix of low>high and many will still have issues maintaining a steady 60fps.
