Suggested CPU for home server

I am currently building a home server, that multiple users will access, and stream content from. My motherboard is an intel server board s1200kp. Any suggestions on a CPU to us? trying not to break the bank, but i tend to go a little over board on things like this lol, the way I see it is if i spend the money now, I wont have to upgrade next week.

i was looking at the intel E3-1260L

what do you think?

That CPU would be perfectly fine. Its a quad core with SMT, which will benefit it.

If thats what you can afford go for it. If you can put a bit more money towards it, get one a bit faster but I don't think it would benefit you much at all.
