Over the next couple of months I am hoping to finish off setting up my rig for a gaming setup and wanted to get your advice on the best graphics cards to get and the best PSU to power it. The current setup includes the following
64gb M4 SSD
2x1tb Samsung f3 Raid-0
8gb 1600mhz Ram
Intel i7 870 @3.2ghz
750w Infinity PSU
LG Blu-ray writer
2x GTX 460 2gb
Windows 7 64bit
I have three Dell sp2309w monitors each with a resolution of 2048 x 1152 to give NVidia surround or ATI eyefinity and this will give. None of the benchmarks I can find show how cards perform at a total resolution of 6144 * 1152.
My initial thought was GTX590 Sli... but I've heard that quad sli scaling isn't great and these cards are hard to find. My other thought is The POV ultra charged edition GTX580 in SLI. Completely open to all suggestions though.
Please note I'd appreciate help on chosing the card (ATI or NVidia) and also the PSU too.
