Hi everybody,
I am new here and would gladly take any advice. I've had a bit of (ease) luck in getting my 45nm to 2.8 but I think that only better CPU cooling will let me go futher. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
This is my humble rig
VIsta x64 SP2 6002
Gigabyte GA-EP43-UD3L
Q8200 @ 7x400MHz (2.800)
NVIDIA GeForce 9800 GT (512 MB) OC'd @ 720 MHz
2x2G OCZ HPC Reaper @ 800MHz@2.0v 5-5-5-15 2T
Thermaltake PurePower 430-Watt PSU
Dell E228WFP (Digital) [22" LCD] (KU31178D3P5M)
Realtek ALC888 @ Intel 82801JB ICH10
WDC WD2500AAJS-22VTA0 ATA Device (232 GB, IDE)
PIONEER DVD-RW DVR-216D ATA Device
Seagate External Drive USB Device (111 GB, USB)
Realtek RTL8168C(P)/8111C(P) Family PCI-E Gigabit NIC
-Cooling-
2x80mm Masscool
1x120mm Antec TriCool
1x120 Scythe Kama Bay 5.25
Ultra 4 Channel Fan Controller
EVGA Stock GPU Cooling @ 3,400rpms via RivaTuner
Intel C2Q Stock CPU Cooling
Software I use:
Using Everest, CPUZ, SuperPI (19s@2.8OC 1:1), HyperPi, RivaTuner, SIW.EXE, Prime95, 3dMark06, Crysis Benchmarking Tool
I hear it can be a pain to swap fans after they are installed. Idle temps are a bit high, 53,52,51,47- 24 (via Everest, Confirmed in Bios and with SIW.EXE) I'm curious as why my "CPU" temp is so much lower than each of my core's.
1:1 FSB:RAM for Stability though I know my ram is capable of being stable at 1120 but after that timings tend to get undesirable, I'm sure with more voltage it could do 1200 as OCZ claims but is it even worth it? It's down to 800mhz for stability. I'm still new to this and would love to learn from your advice. Much Obliged
3dMark06 with current OC
Thanks again!
